Entry Requirements : Grade C or above on the GCSE Physical Education Theory Exam Paper. Grade C or above in Science or Biology.

Opportunities for and the effects of leading a healthy and active lifestyle. (60% of AS – 30% of A2 : 2 hour written examination) |

Analysis and evaluation of physical activity as a performer / and / or in an adopted role/s. (40% of AS – 20% of A2 level) |

Optimising performance and evaluating contemporary issues within sport. (30% of A2 : 2 hour written examination) |

Coursework - optimising Practical Performance. Candidates perform,analyse and evaluate their own performance, identify weakness and suggest causes and appropriate corrective measures. (20% of A2 level) |

Assessment :
Units 1 and 2 are assessed at the end of Y12 and Units 3 and 4 at the end of Y13.
Coursework :
Unit 2 and Unit 4 are coursework, as outlined above.

Sport related higher education courses and careers such as : psychologist, journalism, photographer, administrator, coach, leisure management, teaching, physiotherapy, fitness instructor.
