History 

Awarding Body : Edexcel

Entry Requirements : Grade C or above in GCSE History is required. Grade C or above in GCSE English is preferred.

Course Content :

AS Level : Students study British History – Henry VIII 1509 – 40 and American History between 1950 – 1975.

A2 Level : Students will study German History from Kaiser to Fuhrer 1900 – 45 and Roman Britain as a taught coursework topic.

Assessment :

You will be assessed through essays and also questions based on a variety of historical source in AS and A2.  There are 2 exam papers in AS and 1 in A2.

Coursework :

Students undertake a taught coursework programme in year 13, and complete 2 pieces of coursework.

Progression :

History provides access to a wide variety of degree courses including History, Law, Social Sciences, English, Philosophy and many combined degrees.
