Silverdale's balanced programme covers major cross-curricular themes such as Information Technology, enterprise and economic awareness, citizenship, health education, careers education, links with the world of work and personal developmen.

Our PSHE programme embraces all aspects of a pupil’s personal development. Education in Citizenship and personal relationships, including Sex Education, takes place within these lessons, as well as in related subjects such as Religious Education and Science. PSHE lessons also cover drugs education and health-related issues associated with alcohol and smoking.

The Religious Education course allows all pupils to consider the spiritual aspect of life and to promote greater understanding between people of different beliefs and cultures. Wholeyear assemblies address moral and spiritual matters and are broadly Christian in character.
